Appalachian Scholar Project is looking for young, bright, enterprising high school students to join us for a free 4 week boot camp at the University of Charleston. We invite students who are passionate and invested in their futures to apply for this competitive program.
This program is designed to create opportunities for students who are invested in attending college. Appalachian Scholar Project seeks to assist some of the brightest and talented minds in West Virginia; to expose them to the rigor of a college course; to aid them in their college applications; and to achieve their dreams.
- Duration: June 5-June 30, 2017
- Location: University of Charleston
Current juniors and rising seniors are eligible to apply
Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 and above
Must have a PSAT score of 1270 or ACT score of 26 and above
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until June 1st
Please attach a writing sample of original work. The sample can be from a class or a longer piece of work. It should be no more than 3-4 pages. Analytical pieces are preferred. (.pdf format preferred)
In no more than 100-250 words, answer the following prompt: "What is your greatest passion?" (.pdf format referred)
